Starting a New Season

“Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it?  Isaiah 43:19

There is something both exciting and unsettling about the start of a new season. Whether it’s a new year, a new role, a shift in business, or simply a fresh internal chapter, seasons invite change. They also invite questions. How do I move forward well? What should I carry with me—and what should I leave behind?

In the marketplace, we are often conditioned to start fast. We launch initiatives, set goals, and build plans. While preparation and strategy matter, Scripture reminds us that how we begin shapes what we build. Starting right is not about having all the answers—it’s about aligning our hearts, character, and posture before God.

Why Beginnings Matter

Too often, we measure success by speed and momentum. But spiritual alignment is what sustains us over time. When we begin a season grounded in God’s truth, we build with clarity rather than anxiety, and with purpose rather than pressure.

This conviction is what led us to create the Starting Right: A 5-Day Devotional—a simple, intentional way to pause before the pace of a new season takes over.

Anchored in Identity

The devotional begins where Scripture begins: identity. Being made in the image of God shapes how we see ourselves, our work, and others. Before outcomes, titles, or responsibilities, we are image-bearers. When our work flows from this truth, dignity, creativity, and purpose follow naturally.

A Grace to Grow

New seasons often stir a desire for growth. Growth, however, is not something we force—it’s something we steward. Scripture reminds us that fruitfulness is part of our design, but it may also require pruning. This season may invite you to release habits, systems, or commitments that no longer produce life.

Better Together

Leadership can feel isolating, especially in seasons of transition. God’s design is clear: it is not good to be alone. Community brings accountability, unity, and strength. The right people help us see blind spots, stay aligned with our values, and persevere through challenge.

Learning to Take a Breath

Before we lead well, we must learn to breathe deeply. God’s breath is the source of life, peace, and clarity. Taking intentional time to slow down with Him restores perspective and renews strength. In a culture of constant motion, rest becomes an act of trust.

Faithful Stewardship in Every Season

The devotional concludes with a call to stewardship. Everything we lead—businesses, classrooms, teams, opportunities—has been entrusted to us by God. Starting right means embracing responsibility with humility and faithfulness, trusting that obedience in small things prepares us for greater impact.

Starting Well Changes Everything

Starting Right isn’t about adding another task to your schedule. It’s about creating margin to listen, reflect, and realign before stepping fully into what’s next.

If you’re standing at the threshold of a new season, our prayer is that this devotional helps you move forward grounded, refreshed, and confident—not in yourself alone, but in God’s presence and purpose.

Sometimes the most productive thing we can do at the beginning…is pause.
