Wisdom: How to Optimize Every Area of Life

Optimize it All

What if I told you, you could optimize every area of life by investing in one thing? A key to unlock a higher level? Would you be interested? The key I’m talking about is wisdom.

How do you prioritize wisdom in your business? The truth is, there is no business without wisdom. Nothing will ever be profitable, useful, or meaningful without wisdom. A better question would be “To what extent is wisdom at work in your life?” Do you suppress or encourage wisdom? Wisdom will optimize your decision-making, performance, relationships, and strategies, so what is wisdom? A dictionary definition reads this way:

Wise: characterized by wisdom: marked by deep understanding, keen discernment, and a capacity for sound judgment

Merriam Webster Dictionary

The definition describes optimized versions of deeply important skill sets. Vital skills, not just to business, but every area of life. Wisdom is the universal ingredient that upgrades your business, your marriage, every relationship, and your well-being. The Bible makes this statement in proverbs:

Get wisdom; develop good judgment. Don’t forget my words or turn away from them.

Proverbs 4:5 NLT

The continuation of Proverbs 4 is an amazing sales pitch on the merits of getting wisdom. It will protect you, promote you, and help you find your way. The result of which, makes it hard to overlook the value of getting and investing in wisdom for your life.

The same chapter personifies wisdom and encourages us to become acquainted, the same way you would develop a friendship. A friendship that is close enough that you know what the other person is thinking and have the ability to finish your friend’s sentences.

Investing in Wisdom

Everyone can become wiser. The investment is not financial, but rather one that takes time and intentionality.  The book of Proverbs, sometimes known as the “Book of Wisdom” is rich with advice that enhances your character, thought process, and demeanor. As you read, meditate, and apply these words of wisdom your autopilot gets an upgrade, your default methods improve, and your baseline rationale is elevated.  You will start to see things from a new perspective, solutions will present themselves in a new light and you will excel in areas you have not before.  This is the supernatural business approach that has marked my life. One exercise that I have repeated many times over is reading the book of Proverbs.  There are 31 Proverbs, which conveniently fit into the days of the month. I challenge you to read a chapter a day for the next month.
